Following a stellar year one, WHO KNEW… returns in 2016 to bring together thought leaders and powerbrokers with yet-to-be discovered change makers in the entertainment industry. TheJanuary 21 event features a lineup of industry leaders who are helping to shape an increasingly important sector of the music industry; live entertainment. The speakers will touch on all aspects of live music, including touring, music festivals and concert promotion.

The January 21 speaker panel will include the following entertainment industry leaders:
Dave Frey - Frey is CEO of Silent Partner Management. He is also the man behind well-known music festivals such as Lockn’ and H.O.R.D.E. A denizen of the music Industry since the early '80s, he has worked with artists ranging from the Ramones and Cheap Trick to Blues Traveler.
Brian Waymire - Brian Waymire is the founder and director of RedGorilla Music Fest in Austin, TX and a partner at The Agency Coalition in Nashville. After founding RedGorilla with four bands and one stage, the event has grown to showcase 400+ acts each year. As an artist manager and booking agent, Brian has developed several artists from their local markets into international touring acts.
Adam Voith - Adam Voith works with leading independent booking agency The Billions Corporation from its Nashville office. Fiercely focused on an artist-centric & sustainable approach, he represents a roster of world-class talent which includes Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend, and The Tallest Man on Earth.
Larry Kloess - Larry Kloess is the Founder and CEO of Cause A Scene, a local movement and concert series originally started in early 2012 in his living room with the purpose of connecting individuals around a shared love of the discovery of music and the value of creative culture. Over the course of nearly four years, Cause A Scene has curated and hosted nearly 200 intimate concerts all over Nashville in secret, pop-up locations.
Lenore Kinder - Kinder is one of the top talent buyers with concert promoter AEG Live. As a respected voice in the industry, she recognizes the importance of building a community of music fans to support bands as they grow their careers.
Don VanCleave - One of the music scene's most innovative thinkers, VanCleave left his career as an industrial engineer to open a CD-only store in the 1980s and later on founded Record Store Day. Since then, he has worked in a variety of leadership capacities across the music industry. Currently, he works with Nashville's FLO Thinkery and manages breaking local act Moon Taxi.
Craig Havighurst - An encyclopedia of Nashville knowledge and WHO KNEW... history expert, Havighurst will once again share his historical perspective on the Nashville music scene. Havighurst is a regular feature of WHO KNEW… and co-host of the popular Music City Roots series.
Singer-songwriter Daphne Willis will kick off the WHO KNEW… after party, followed by headlinerSonia Leigh. Sonia Leigh’s song “When We Are Alone” was selected at the Nov. 12 WHO KNEW... Presents "The Pitch" event for use in the SIMS video game, as well as gaining placement for an upcoming episode of “Nashville.”
WHO KNEW... is presented by the College of Media and Entertainment at Middle Tennessee State University, MusicRowSearch, with support from Dell Nashville, The Arnett Group, Stites & Harbison, Southwest Airlines, Jammber Music, Anacrusis, Do615, Lightning 100, Jukebox Mixtape, Jive! Sold-out 2015 WHO KNEW… events have hosted some of the most innovative minds and top executives in the music industry. Speakers have included A&R legends like Tom Zutaut and Scott Hendricks, elite music supervisors such as Anastasia Brown and Steve Schnur, artists like Matthew Perryman Jones, Gabe Dixon and Alanna Royale, a host of entrepreneurs of all shapes and sizes and representatives from some of the biggest players in the industry including Warner Music Group, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Pandora and Spotify.
